Family Photography Sessions

Are you looking for a family photographer based in Berkshire?

Hi, I'm Jade, a family photographer based just outside of Hungerford, Berkshire, also covering surrounding areas such as Wiltshire, Oxfordshire & Hampshire. With a passion for capturing authentic, emotional images that bring joy for a lifetime, I always strive to create the most memorable experiences for you and your family. Why? Because if you're relaxed and genuinely having fun, this will show in your photos. I like my family photography sessions to be just as much about making precious memories as they are capturing them.

So, what can you expect?

All of my families receive a questionnaire to complete before their family photography session. This helps me to understand a little bit more about your family before the day, so that I can capture all of your unique and individual personalities as authentically as possible.

This also gives you the opportunity to suggest any ideas you might have for the photoshoot and to voice any questions or concerns.

The galleries from my family sessions usually include a mixture of traditional style portraits and candid portraits, but if there are any specific images you're after, I'm always open to suggestions.

I will work with you to understand your vision for your family photos and will provide a list of location recommendations based on this. However, if you have your heart set on a location that means a lot to you and your family, I will do everything I can to make that happen, as long as the lighting works well!

I describe my family sessions as going for a walk with a friend - a friend that happens to bring their camera along with them. We'll explore your chosen location and stop off along the way to take photos.

Family sessions are so incredibly special.

They are a way of freezing a moment in time and capturing memories that will be cherished for years to come.

FAQ's

What can we expect on the day of our family session?

I will explain everything you need to know before we start your session. The best part? You can't get it wrong! Using fun prompts and light posing, I like to capture a mixture of candid and traditional portraits.

You will be sent a pre-session questionnaire after booking, which helps me to understand more about you as a family and what you're hoping to get from your session. This helps me to tailor the shoot to you and to ensure the gallery best reflects your unique personalities and relationships.

You will also receive a Welcome Guide which gives you more information about what to expect on the day, as well as some hints and tips for how to choose your outfits.

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

What if my child doesn't want to co-operate or look at the camera?

I get asked this one a lot! As photographers, we don't expect family sessions (particularly with young children) to run as planned. We always anticipate having to take snack breaks or to change things up a little, and I'm here to tell you that it's absolutely fine.

The last thing I want is for you to be stressed out on the day. Because no matter how nice the photos are at the end of it, if you were stressed during the session, you'll look back on the photos with negative memories.

So if the children need to burn off some energy, we'll let them. If they need time to run around and play, we'll let them.

I always try and capture the more traditional style portraits (where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling) towards the start of the session, before the little ones get tired. But, if they're not having any of it, it's fine, I'll work with them.

Sometimes kids don't like looking at the camera and if that's the case, we may need to lean more towards candid style portraits. But I always come prepared with a few tricks up my sleeve to get those smiles.... so you leave the worrying to me and enjoy the time spent making memories with your precious family.

How long does it take to receive our digital gallery?

I aim to deliver your digital gallery to you within 4 weeks of your session date.

How do we access our photos?

Once I've edited all of the photos from your session, I will email you a personalised link for you to click on, which will take you straight to your gallery. From here, you will be able to view and download all of your images.

How many images will we receive?

You will receive a minimum of 50 photos from your family session.

What if it rains?

On the lead up to your session date, I will be keeping an eye on the weather. Yep, that's right... part-time photographer, part-time weather watcher! If it looks like the weather is going to be wet, we will pencil in a new date as a back-up. Don't worry, we will get your session done - but sometimes we just have to accept that the British weather isn't always on our side!

Are your sessions suitable for someone who isn't confident in front of the camera?

Absolutely! Even as a photographer, I can relate to this so much. Filling out your pre-session questionnaire will help me get to know you better and understand what you do and don't feel comfortable with. My main goal is to make you feel relaxed and at ease during your session. I'll give you clear prompts and gentle directions to help capture beautiful, authentic images.

What is your editing style?

I would describe my editing style as being natural and true to colour.

Who owns the copyright to the images?

Legally, I own the copyright to the images that I capture. However, you can print your images and share them amongst family / friends and on social media for your own personal use. Please note, you may not edit the images in any way (such as applying an instagram filter). As a photographer, I spend hours perfecting your final gallery, and any images I deliver are a true representation of my work.

Can we edit our own images?

No, I don't allow any amendments / edits to be made (including applying any filters). This is because as a photographer, I spend hours perfecting your final gallery, and any images I deliver are a true representation of my work.
